Cant get my dog to go downstairs?

I have a 7-8 year old shiz-tzu who is scared of walking downstairs. She can easily go upstairs but not downstairs. my other shiz-tzu can easily do it effortlessly but is a boy. Is it possible or is it to late? she is really scared of those devilish stairs!
