How can I convince my mom to visit nyc with me?

I really want to visit new york next year, and we can afford it, but my mom just doesn't want to go because she thinks it's dangerous. I understand, but there are also good areas, right? Please help me convince her! I really wanna visit Broafway and the Statie of Liberty! Thanks!
